LQA Quality Assurance Coordinator

Job Purpose:

The role of the LQA Quality Assurance Coordinator involves the management of testers and projects for Babel’s localisation customers.

 

Scope of Role:

The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of these projects on time and on budget to the highest specified quality standards, as well as adherence to all hardware manufacturer standards and guidelines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day co-ordination of assigned projects, including agreeing project timelines with the Client and/or Project Manager
  • Briefing and managing test teams throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Monitoring and maintaining bug databases for all assigned projects
  • Primary point of contact for questions raised by teams
  • Formulation of test plans/strategies
  • Active participation in project’s milestones meetings
  • Executes defined test strategy in accordance with project schedule and budget requirements.
  • Assigning roles and coordinating workflow within the project team
  • Responsibility for project version control
  • Monitoring the overall quality of bugs as required by Babel process and in line with Babel training requirements
  • Communication of progress reports as required to the Client or Project Manager
  • Communication of department software and hardware requirements to the QAM
  • Responsible for the upkeep of Babel policy, process and security
  • Maintenance and communication of testers’ performance records
  • Client contact at a QA level on all projects
  • Conducting tester or lead tester duties as and when required
  • Take control of multi-platform projects and be the main point of contact for clients.
  • Prepares and maintains comprehensive test plans which cover all required functionality and features and/or bugs required to be regressed.
  • Prepares reports which provides complete and accurate of testing and defect status.
  • Ensures all bug databases are updated with accurate information.
  • Assigns testers to test tasks and makes necessary adjustments to ensure required test coverage is achieved as fast as possible without compromising quality.
  • Vets any high priority bugs in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all bug databases are updated in a timely fashion
  • Follows correct process or clearly communicates on any necessary deviations.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Ability

Essential:

  • Understanding of localisation QA and compliance testing process
  • Understanding of software submission requirements and process
  • Familiarity with Test Cases Management software
  • Experience with Test Tools across one or more platforms
  • Recognises the importance of accuracy within their role/team/department’s inputs/ outputs and takes steps to verify or implement this.
  • Demonstrates a keen eye for errors/inconsistencies in both their own and others contribution, highlighting or amending these as appropriate.
  • Assigns testers to test tasks and makes necessary adjustments to ensure required test coverage is achieved as fast as possible without compromising quality.
  • Vets any high priority bugs in a timely manner.
  • Performs effective initial and daily project briefings.
  • Plans testing activities in order to maximize the use of specific resources (either specialised staff or test equipment).
  • Manages multiple tasks effectively, progresses work in parallel.
  • Focuses on the demands of Customers by working extra hours/weekends in order to meet Project/Customer milestones.
  • Identifies solutions/alternate test strategies which will help the Customer achieve their objectives/goals.
  • Conveys to Senior Management and/or customers project status via reports, e-mail, instant messaging and/or phone conferences.
  • Mentors and supports all staff including new QACs.
  • Actively approaches others for their ideas and suggestions.
  • Resolves conflicts with tact and maturity.
  • Provides team direction and clarity and timely, clear and actionable performance feedback.
  • Makes informed decisions based on past experience and inputs from the team.
  • Advanced skills with MS Excel

 

Desirable:

  • Formal Project Management techniques or training
  • Understanding of the game development process
